About
Instead of the standard WordPress “about” page, I’ve decided to actually write something here.
Since you’re obviously interested in me, I might as well tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Pete (actually it’s Petar but everyone calls me Pete so you might as well call me Pete too) and as you can probably already tell, I’m a webmaster. I got my start in Domain Names back in the late 1990s buying domains in the hopes of them attracting enough traffic to either cash in on Domain Parking or by passing those visitors off to various Affiliate Programs.
I had some luck with the Affiliate Programs (not so much with Domain Parking) and decided to retire immediately after College (I’m a Software Engineer supposedly). A great decision I thought, it turns out that I was right.
Although the inevitable happened (my Domain Traffic -> Affiliate Program earnings stopped) I was in a great position to explore the wonderful world of Affiliate Programs, SEO, SEM and in general become a Webmaster. I spent some time playing with PPC to Affiliate, SEO and yes, even MFA and Spammy Crap Sites.
My greatest profits to date have been earned through Affiliate Programs. I feel that I have an obligation to say this up front because I don’t want to mislead people into thinking I know everything about Webmastering, Affiliate Sales, PPC, SEO and so on… I don’t. I’m familiar with a lot of what’s being circulated and accepted as standard practice but I’m not going to offer advice on anything that I haven’t done myself.
That being said, my goals for the future (and coincidentally my weak spots) are:
- Catch up on my SEO
- Content creation to make authoritative websites
- Build newsletters and subscriber lists
- Alternative traffic sources (I don’t want to pay for traffic if I don’t have to)
Alright, now you know why I’m here and what I’m up to. Go read the website, come back often and leave comments, ideas, feedback and advice!
